Rider Spotlight
Each month, PRTC shines a light on one of our passengers to learn why
that person chooses to ride public transportation, how long he or she has
been using PRTC’s services and what we can do to improve that person’s
commute. Check out this month’s Rider Spotlight below.

Jonathan Johnson
Customer Profile - May 2013
Jonathan Johnson has a job interview, so he boards an OmniLink bus near his home in Woodbridge and rides to the PRTC Transit Center where he transfers to the Prince William Metro Direct. Once in Springfield, he will take Metro to the interview.
Mr. Johnson has been using PRTC’s bus services since he moved to the area in 2011 after being stationed in Japan with the United States Marine Corps. He usually rides daily or every other day, primarily to destinations in Woodbridge and to the Franconia-Springfield Metro Station.
“The buses go where I need to go,” he said.
And while the fare of $1.20 is reasonable, Mr. Johnson wishes that the on-time performance was better and that bus service was available later at night – even if it was just until 11:30 p.m. He was raised in Baltimore and used public transportation there, so the less-frequent and earlier-ending bus service that’s available in the suburbs has required an adjustment, he said.
